What happens if you are in the police station?
Know that all documentation will be written by hand. A report goes from office to office, to court and back. They will ask you to sign papers, written only in Arabic. Be aware. Wait till we are there and don't sign or give any statement. If you see no other option, sign, we rewrite it after. As our Lawyers also work in higher court, we will act quickly to solve the issues. Unawareness is the biggest enemy for you. In our cases we know the importance of trustful people next to you. Therefor we also work with mediators and psychologists, to stand by you. We can reopen cases from past, so yours too, if necessary. You can count on us.

Attorney for residents
Crime Law is mostly not in the minds of residents, however it can be an issue. For example financial liqudation or fraud, car accidents, robbery, or any kind against Law and Order. It can go totally wrong, by lack of knowledge of the new culture, and people who trick you this bad, that you end up in prison. For sure a nightmare for everyone, as your intentions were so good, and became so bad. In Egypt detention can happen without trial. There are lot of examples, in which foreigners stay sometimes for years in Egyptian prisons. We try our best to prevent this. In any case of justice, to get you to your home country, where mostly, there is no consequence anymore and you are free. However know, that visiting Egypt again, is very hard.
Be in jail in Egypt has some practical facts: you have no bed, or blankets, hygiene is none, you have shared cells, you don't get any food or drinks, this must be taken care of from your outside friends and family. It is dark, cold and very dirty. Lot is written about the circumstances, and we leave that to Human Rights activists, but in any case, you must get fair trail to face the reality of custody.
